RecommendedI don’t usually write reviews for places, but I just had a really great experience during my first visit to the First Post. Great atmosphere and seating in an awesome old building. Broad wine and draft list. Our appetizers were delicious and generous. The meals were fantastic! I got the pork chop - seriously this thing was like 4” thick and was dino-sized - that came with cheddar grits and Brussels sprouts with bacon. 5/5. My husband and I went to the First Post tonight around 6:30 PM, the parking lot was practically empty. We walked in, hostess asked if we had a reservation, we said no. She said we aren’t taking walk ins, but you can take your chances at bar tables or we can put you on waiting list. 20 to 30 minutes. We left!

Hi Nancy, I apologize that we were not able to seat you as soon as you arrived. Unfortunately with being forced to operate at 25% capacity and not being able to seat at the bar, even when there are open parking spaces in the lot and seats in the restaurant, we are not allowed to seat them. I would be happy to put in a reservation for you sometime if you would like to try us out, and we can get you in at the time you would like without waiting.
The ahi tuna appetizer is delicious! The service has gotten better since their opening. Still wish they had a menu that was as awesome as the Roadhouse...

My husband and I ate lunch at The First Post today for the first time. Our waiter/ bartender was Billy. The service that he provided to us was spectacular. He made my good recommendations for food and drinks. The food was excellent. My husband even ate 4 Brussels spirits for the first time in his life! We can’t wait to return!
While traveling home from a day in Gettysburg and to celebrate our anniversary we decided to try The First Post for our special dinner. The First Post was lovely inside. They also were doing an excellent job of dealing with the Covid requirements. Plenty of spacing between guests dining inside and all staff wore masks. Our dinners were excellent. One of our very favorite spots!! Everyone is friendly, it’s relaxing, food is great, great service, great seasonal drink menu! Can’t wait until this Covid bs is over with and they can be at full capacity again!! ❤️
Food and drinks were all good especially the oysters! I got the crab cakes and my husband got the salmon which both were delicious. No complaints from us!!! We will be back!!!
