I’m extremely disappointed by The Emerson’s decision to eliminate 24/7 onsite concierge service. For a building that markets and prices itself as a luxury property, this is not a small operational change — it is a major downgrade in the resident experience. Starting September 28, onsite concierge and leasing staff will only be available Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM. I moved into The Emerson less than a month ago, and unfortunately, my experience has already been very disappointing. To be fair, the building itself has some real advantages. The 2B2B units are very spacious, the views are nice, and the soundproofing is generally good. These were some of the reasons we chose The Emerson in the first place. However, the problems started even before we moved in. The leasing office was extremely inefficient throughout the application and move-in process. I've lived at The Emerson since 2024 and it's the best apartment I've ever had. The amenities are great and Bunker Hill is the best neighborhood in LA. The maintenance team deserves its own mention. They're professional, they're friendly, and they keep the building in tiptop shape. I also appreciate the free coffee and donut events. They're a simple thing, but they get residents out of their units and talking to each other, and that's how a building turns into a community. For two years this was an easy 5 stars.
