We didn't end up staying. We were not about to pay an admission fee just to pick apples that we then had to pay for. The "hay ride" that is included is merely a ride to the top of the hill. The "free" basket is obviously paid for by my admission fee. I have been coming here with family for over 40 years, since I was a child. Too bad it's ending now.

Went to Elegant Farmer to pick apples yesterday and pick up some items from the store. There is a new $5 charge to enter the orchard, which I understand since I saw some kids actually just grabbing apples and throwing them at eachother and people do eat a few right off the trees. I do not like that all the baskets are now at the top of the hill. I'm allergic to hay do I can't take the hayride to the top. It'd be nice if you were not going on it to be able to pick up your basket at the lower level and begin picking. Other tha... read more

Surprised to see the fee to get in. Just thankful we went early enough in the season to actually get apples off the tree.

The addition of the entry fee really sours the experience. We went today to pick and couldn't really enjoy the experience because we couldn't get our minds off of the fact that we were spending nearly $30 for a peck of apples. As a result, we were less inclined to go into the store and shop more. I think EF may want to reconsider this greedy decision. In the end, it's going to drive business away and they won't end up making the money they want. We will not be returning if the fee sticks and I have a feeling were not the onl... read more

My family and I have been coming here for years. We have always enjoyed how a family on a very tight budget could afford to go pick apples. However, today when we went the fees turned our economical family fun tradition into an extremly expensive occasion. I am sad that my family will no longer be able to come. Not because of bad product, service or lack of fun. But because we can no longer afford it. Maybe of there were different options for families...like if you don't want to hayride it is 2 dollars for adults and a dolla... read more

They are known for their pies and they used to be so good… I took went to Chicago there was no crust on the bottom and the top crust was so hard and crunchy with sugar that nobody wanted to eat it.... Very disappointing

The shop and bakery are absolutely fantastic, but charging to enter the Apple picking fields will no longer allow us to go pick with them. The apples are usually delicious, but this year, with charging for admission, the price has doubled for us. We get that people used to abuse free admission just to eat apples, but we do not want to pay a substantial amount to enter the field. If the apples we want are over picked or not completely grown, we would be out the cost of admission and waking away with no apples in hand. For exa... read more

The Elegant Farmer is my family's annual outing. Nine years and counting. Yesterday, we had 35+ family members attend. It was our first time attending opening weekend. We usually go late September early October. The place is always clean. The new entrance fee is NOT a big deal, and I am happy to pay it. I do not think they're being "greedy", they're running a business. The staff is very friendly and the market-bakery offers many specialty items. Their famous homemade "pies in a bag" are delicious! Their salsa, chicken pot pi... read more
