The apples had frost bite and they charged to enter the orchard... Kind of over priced ...
We will not be back. I will not pay $5 jyst to pick apples.
Not our orchard anymore. The admission price combined wroth the cost of the apples just put the Elegant Farmer out of our price range for the experience. $30 for a bushel of apples and $18 to get in. We also had the misfortune of going on a day when it stormed. Instead of enjoying an (expensive) apple picking experience we had to grab whatever we could, in the rain, to make it worth the amount we would be charged for the bushel. We will either find a different orchard or stop our apple picking fall tradition.
I think that it was well worth the money. I have a small family (just one child under 2) and we picked a 1/2 bushel of apples and paid for admission all for only $40. Compared to other places that I have researched, that was very reasonable. I brought my mother with us and she enjoyed the bakery and market store. It offered plenty for the whole family to do and they were more than friendly. I will definitely be back next year.
The Elegant Farmer has become way too elegant for my family. The per person charge just to step foot in the orchard made it wayyyy too expensive for us. I have some really disappointed children on my hands right now. Sorry to see your family atmosphere traded for commercialized greed. So sad.
Awesom pies , friendly staff and i love those deli sandwiches !!!
Wonderful orchard! Great for weekend you-pick apples and delicious pies, etc in their market. Fun, easy crowds made possible by a friendly & helpful staff. Parking was well directed. Hayrides into and out of the orchards - which were well stocked with lots of apples and ladders! Good, fair prices. Really, really friendly & approachable staff. We will go back
☆☆☆☆☆ Love their Carmel apple pies baked in a paper bag! I've lived in the East Troy/Mukwonago area all my life. And my dad had worked at The Elegant Farmer for many years. He always brought home some type of goodies, and they were always delicious, and FRESH! I used to live right up the road on Hwy J and would walk there or ride my bike there with my little brother for ice cream when we were kids on a weekly basis during the summer. The prices are well worth the value! Fall is always a great time for family fun. I understan... read more
Very disappointed that they are now charging admission to get into the orchard. We do not want to ride the hayride because we enjoy walking with our kids so forcing us to pay for a hayride is ridiculous. Also so many of the trees had gross apples that were not able to be picked. It looked like a disease was spreading. We will be looking for a new place to go for next year. A family tradition has come to an end at Elegant Farmer. I understand having to cover costs but for many of us the cost has out weighed the benefit of the... read more
