My experience at the DBT center was second to none. The people that work there do their very best to provide the most excellent service they can. Knowing that this is a full comprehensive DBT program also feels reputable. I also feel like there are services and programs offered here that are unique to this DBT center. If you’ve had a chance to work with one of the clinicians there, I consider you very lucky and I hope you get the most out of this experience. DBT is hard! There are plenty of DBT programs that aren't run by a therapist who is overwhelmed to the point where she belittles her clients and misdiagnosed them. I love all of the other therapists at this place but the lady who runs it, Caroline, misdiagnosed my autism ad DID, which happens, but then she belittled nearly everything I went through and it was seriously ethically bad when she insisted I had sexual trauma when I was pretty sure I didn't. You won’t find a more caring therapist anywhere.
The therapist we were assigned, Makenzee Townsend, isn’t licensed—something we weren’t made aware of until after we had paid for our initial client assessment. Ms. Townsend knowingly breached my daughter’s right to confidentiality. This is an example of why I would have declined to work with an unlicensed therapist had I been informed beforehand.
