Very nice place to check out. Long walks or short trips throughout the facilty. We went when they had wagon tours and it was informative and fun.
Beautiful park with so many unusual plant specimens, Gorgeous azaleas and rhododendron in bloom in May, June...large mature trees, love the cypress swamp with All the trees and cypress knees..looks like little fairies or goblins.. Several nice walking trails through woods... Lovely Lake where we have seen turtles ,ducks and geese. DAwes house tour..very historical and interesting..and Picnic tables...love the place summer or winter...
Dowes was way more than I expected it to be especially since it was raining the day I was there. I enjoyed every second I was there.
Really had a huge let down when we visited the Japanese Garden......I brought my husband to share in the beauty of something I have enjoyed for many years. The Koi are at a bare minimum. We saw 3. Prior to the renovation I enjoyed the beauty of many colors and sizes. What happened to all of them?
I just attended a mushroom identification workshop. The person was going to present became I'll and couldn't do it, so Sigrid filled in. I loved out! The staff was so knowledgeable and my granddaughter who hadn't wanted to come ended up loving it too. Its important to teach the kids about the beauty of the natural world and I was so glad to share this experience with her. Please have more mushroom sessions.
Peaceful. Calming. Trees. Ahhh. Beautifully displayed, with lots of paths and places to rest. Love this place.
