We engaged The Davey Tree Expert Company to trim our trees, treat our bushes and lawn. WHAT A MISTAKE! Our first problem occurred when they literally "butchered" our lilac bush, rather than the simple pruning we requested. In resolution, they planted large plants to hide the bare lower branches. The lawn service was so poor, we had to continually call them to treat the full yard--not just what they could spray over the back yard fence. What a pleasant surprise! Davey Tree took down six large trees in our backyard today. The trees were well over 40 feet tall, one was arching over our neighbors' garage, one was arching over our house, one was interfering with power lines, and one was pushing up against a fence. The crane arrived on time, the crew was there at the stated time, and they were polite and efficient. They cleaned up the yard of all dropped limbs and branches. We are not pleased with this company at all. Would give them a zero rating if possible. We got a quote, scheduled a date, took off work, cancelled appointments to be home, waited 3 weeks only to have them come out and say they could not do the work. Apparently they could not climb the tree due to rot and did not have the equipment to reach the tree with the bucket truck. This morning, my husband noticed someone was in our yard. He went outside to investigate and there were two people in the back yard, one had climbed up one of our massive trees, and they were cutting branches. My husband came back in kind of confused but calm (he's basically always calm) but I was livid and went out and asked them what the hell they were doing in our yard. St Louis Davey Tree removed a large half dead Shingle Oak from our back yard. The 3 men were professional, efficient and did a great job. They used a crane, which was parked in the yard and afterward, there was very little damage to the yard. I would recommend these people. VA

I engaged Davy Tree Westerville to do a simple job ... trim up a birch tree in a front yard by removing half a dozen or so lower branches, no significant trimming on the mid or upper section. Davy Tree man came out and we went over the tree discussing what was needed. He recommended adding jet injection of fertilizer of a particular fertilizer. We contacted Davey tree company here in Indianapolis, IN to inquire about the particulars of cutting down our tree in the front yard. The understanding was that they would be coming out sometime in the winter. However, when we got home from work on Aug 7, 2019 to our surprise the tree had been cutdown. We notified the company wanting to know what happened. He was reminded that the work order was originally scheduled for some time during the winter. Came out to inspect my trees. Reported that they were in good shape except one had a split on major branch due to lawn mower rubbing spot. My riding doesn't go that bigh. I found holes in leaves and bugs on trees. Had to spray trees for insects.

We hired Davey Tree Service (S&S Tree Service) Minneapolis/St. Paul for a re-landscape project of our front yard. From the beginning we encountered nothing but problems. Timeframe for receiving the landscape plan was not met, when the plan and bid was received, it was not detailed. When the sales person was asked for a detailed bid, it took several weeks.
