About this business
History of our building dates back to 1928. It started out as a feed and storage depot in the 20's. Supplies came by boat and rail. After that business, the building has been used as a Scotty's, Motorcycle repair shop, & Flea Market. The building was then abandoned for quite a few years. Then in 1998, it was rebuilt inside out and became a restaurant called Sunset Steakhouse. The top layer of roof was blown off in 2001 and the building and restaurant was sold. June 4, 2001 The Crazy Gator was opened by Beth and Steve Robin.

Our food was good but some of it was warm at best. Waitress seemed annoyed with my Dad taking so long to decide but guess she didn’t understand he is legally blind and can barely see. All and all I wouldn’t recommend this place. Tillies up the street a few blocks is 100% better and better food.
Had dinner there with a party of eleven. The food was well prepared and very good. The prime rib was cooked medium and had a good flavor. Dawn was our waitress and was very polite and efficient.
I love this place. I don’t live in Eustis but every month I’m there. I ALWAYS eat at the Crazy Gator. Sometimes more than once. I’ve NEVER had a problem. I’ve taken others there and they loved it. That’s the very best fish I’ve ever had ANYWHERE and I have had it many places. They even cut in in smaller pieces when I ask. They are wonderful. The waiters are wonderful, all of them. don’t know all the names but Alexis is my favorite. Thanks Crazy Gator. I’ll see you soon. Judi Harrison.

Good food, and atmosphere.. Right on lake.. great views! I do recommend it...I will frequent there...from time to time.
