Today is the one year anniversary that our little son Calvin passed away at Children's. We had the best care here, from being ground transported with the life flight crew, through surgeries, and throughout the stay in the ICU. Even though things did not work out for our son we highly recommend the hospital to anyone and everyone we tell his story to. Thank you to the 7ICU staff for being an excellent team.
On Wednesday night, this supposibly "great" hospital failed my daughter. Seven and a half hours of waiting, no diagnostic tests past the initial exam and a SEVERE lack of communication. We walked out at 3:15 am. I expect to wait in ERs but that was totally unacceptable!
My son was just diagnosed on Wednesday night with Type 1 Diabetes. The Endocrinology team at Children's Hospital is unbelievable! They listen to your concerns, fears, etc and reassure you that everything is going to work out fine. The Diabetes Nurse Educator (Maureen) is amazing!!!!! The nurses are incredible! Social workers, nutritionists, housekeeping....I can't say enough wonderful things about all of them. I am so thankful we live so close to the best hospitals in the world. Couldn't get answers for my daughter in Utah. Had a horrible experiences with the GI doctors at Primary Children's Hospital. We flew out to Boston based on research and recommendations because I wouldn't admit her here. Got to Boston, admitted her to the ER and within 24 hours they had her feeling better and we're able to meet with the motility doctor (Dr. Rodriguez) next week. My daughter had open heart surgery October 2016 if you need to talk to anybody about something. That may be going on with your child they are always there for you and your child.
I'm extremely grateful for everyone that works at this hospital. My daughter has had the best care and everyone from the Valet, Nurses, Doctors, Social Workers, Volunteers, Food service and Cleaning Services are so patient, understanding and accommodating. It's never easy having a sick child, but the entire staff does their very best to help with whatever they can to make less stressful. As a parent all you care about is your child getting well.
