Simply put this place is Ghetto. Don’t send your child here unless youre okay with other Kids assaulting your child daily while staff make up stupid excuses about the other kids behavior. Like “that kid is working on things “ there are no consequences, my child repeatedly complained to administrators about children bullying him, now today he was Assaulted by 2 other children. it actually is a great place
I can say without hesitation that The Children’s center is the best residential in CT. I lived at the Children’s Center for 16 months. The staff & residents are very loving & caring they were like the family I never had, CC has made me into the person I am today. There’s a school on campus & that school has helped me a lot with my education as the classes are usually self paced. I was satisfied with the food there as a vegetarian they accommodated me well. I spent five years at the Children's Center of Hamden! and I can honestly say it has changed my life. The one thing that I must say about my experience at the Children's Center would be the staff members at Lynch Cottage. The two most remarkable women there where Patricia Smith, and Monica Martin who always instilled in me that my past does not dictate my future! I can appreciate what that means now! I vaguely remember the years that I lived at the children center. I’m guessing because I went to Hamden High School from there by bus, and I remember Mr Katz the bodybuilder from HHS , that it was in the early 80’s? I liked the Cottage that I lived in. I think I remember a staff name Flo or “?Flaudia”?All in all it was a safe and caring place.
