The first year was perfect The first year this property opened I booked a 4 night stay and found aside from a choice of food options on-site the amenities were up to par with most better business hotels. The following year I stayed for 3 nights and was definitely not as impressed as I was the year before. It still had a beautiful lobby area the rooms were still very comfortable but the fact we had to leave even to enjoy a late night cup of coffee was a big con.The following year we booked elsewhere.
Nice Hotel in Downtown Chattanooga The Chattanoogan is a relatively new hotel in downtown Chattanooga. They are located near the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo. Other downtown tourist attractions are at the other end of town, but can easily be walked to, or you can take the electric bus for free. The Chattanoogan is an attractive hotel with an impressive lobby. The hotel has a great restaurant, The Broad Street Grill, and coffee shop, Strouds, a pool and spa located on the premises as well. The ammenities are typical of most... read more
The hotel is beautiful. Associates are very nice. but..No room service when requested. More than 8hrs to clean room. Lamps and electrical outlets did not work. TV pixelated went off line and never came back on. When we returned for evening the tv was working. We requested clean towels. The associate was kind and apologetic.
The staff is doing a great job considering the circumstances that are affecting their abilities to provide excellent service. Shouldn't you be thankful to have a place to stay during the pandemic when you travel into Chattanooga? The hotel deeply discounted the rate due to the conditions created by the construction. who could have foreseen a pandemic when the decision was made to purchase and convert the Chattanoogan into a Hilton Curio Hotel? Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
It’s a beautiful hotel even though it’s under construction. BUT the rooms have terrible lighting. We had every single light (lamp) on and it was just dimly lit. When we arrived after dark, we had to feel around for the light switch and it only turned on a nightlight above the coffee bar. The bathroom light had to help with the rest. The bedside lamps were nice but you can’t control them lying in bed. The switch is up high and you’ve got to get out of the bed to reach it. I’m 5’10 so I’m not too short! Every outlet is install... read more
Updated. The GM called me and discussed my issues. Thanked me for being brutally honest and made me feel better that she would correct the issue for future guests. My biggest complaint is they are not upfront and honest about the current situation. We were told up front that the restaurants and spa were closed. We were emailed that the pool was closed. Ok we could live with that it was still billed as an upscale hotel. When we got arrived there major construction going on, the lobby was gone, the garden area was covered with... read more
When we made reservations we weren’t told the entire hotel was under renovation. No one was outside to assist with car or luggage. We went ahead and checked in. When we got to the room the door was completely off the hinges and in the hallway! Along with the couch. There were 3 construction workers in the room actively remodeling the room. We went back to the front desk and they had no idea the room wasn’t ready. As we were trying to figure it out what to do - 2 other rooms came to complain about their rooms- no air- leaks- ... read more
We just spent 2 nights here and it wasn’t quite the experience we would have hoped for. Even though the hotel is going through some remodeling that didn’t really bother us. We knew the restaurants were closed ahead of time. Our TV was stuck on Nickelodeon....we couldn’t get it to change channels. The safe was locked. We spoke to the staff at the front desk. They were very nice and accommodating. When we got back from lunch the TV was fixed but not the safe. Not a big deal. However, when maintenance left they didn’t shut our ... read more
Not pleased with this hotel at all. My husband and I traveled 8 hours from Florida to Chattanooga for my birthday only to find out the Chattanoogan Hotel was under construction. When we made the reservation we were not informed the restaurant, spa and pool were closed and the front of the hotel looked horrible. We paid full price to stay there for 3 nights ($491) including parking. We were informed when we got to the hotel there was no house keeping either. We are well aware and understand we are in a pandemic and our health... read more
