I walked into the building today for the first time to ask questions about some paperwork I needed to turn in. As I entered, the first person I encountered was a Black man sitting in the waiting area, possibly security. I approached him to explain why I was there and pointed to the section of the paperwork I was confused about. Instead of offering help or calmly directing me, he cut me off and told me to “wait” and “sign in” in a tone that felt impatient and annoyed.
