There is little doubt that The Carlyle, with its magnificent view of Central Park and its close proximity to some of the best shops and museums in New York, is one of the preeminent "grand hotels" in New York. The Upper East Side landmark was built in 1930, when spacious accommodations, fine linens and furniture, and a large and attentive staff were the very least that might be expected for a true luxury hotel; and that tradition continues even today.

Terrific old school jazz joint. Very intimate. Check out John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molasky thru Nov 2014! They will melt your hearts.
With Carl, Marge Lewis and Bill Lewis.
Love this hotel. If you can get a higher level room, the views are beautiful looking out any way (but especially Central Park), as it is the tallest building in the neighborhood.
Order off-menu: regular Manhattans, Vesper martinis, etc. Drinks are 2x the size and just as good.
For an intimate night out, don’t miss cocktails at Bemelmans (with murals by the author of theMadeline children’s books) and cabaret at Café Carlyle.
Trying Bimbelmans for the first time !!
Ambiance cossue et personnel souriant.
