RecommendedI definitely recommend this restaurant, the service is on point, completely friendly & quick! We left a near by restaurant & totally regret not just coming here first. The Cantina is a big fun location and long time fixture in Mill Valley at the foot of Camino Alto, with easy parking, outdoor patios, and large parties, relaxing like you're across the border on vacay. One of my cyclng routes stops, cyclng over Christmas Tree Hill. Fun for a casual beer, cocktails, appetizers, shared plates like fajitas, grilled favs, meetups with friends, family and work.
We got there when they first opened. Service was good. Food took a while but it was good. Large plates. We took half home and had it for dinner
The service is just no good anymore. We still like the food, but will not be back because the waiters just don't know good service. No one comes to take care of you in a timely manner. Also, no ongoing follow ups.
Good food and good service until the check came. We had three separate parties, two without cash. Waiter would not separate check per restaurant policy. When we explained that we did not have cash and had to split the check on our credit cards, he refused to figure out the split. We are from out of state and did not know the tax rate to figure the split ourselves. Additionally, our party was only six people, but they added a mandatory 20% tip. Standard practice is 18% on parties of 8 or more.
Been eating here since the 80s... I recommend The Cantina 100%
