I first came across the Brook RED Centre in Highgate Hill, Brook Street. RED, Recovery, Empowerment and Development. My time with Qhealth, Community Mental Health at THT. Our team would link clients into Brook RED. Where clients could be part of a place where they would engage with people who are living with a mental health, through peer support. It continue to offer support after 25 years. A vital part of any community that’s breaking down any stigma associated with mental illnesses.
Had a bad experience. If you're brave enough to give them ago and it goes poorly, don't bother emailing. They won't respond !!! So, I wouldn't say it is a safe space for peer support. The worst part that still bugs me was being laughed at by Andrew on the phone when trying to get support.
