My one-star review comes down to two serious concerns: 1. EXCESSIVE RENT INCREASES During my five-plus years at The Bravern, my first renewal included a rent increase of more than 20%, followed by approximately 20% at a later renewal. Residents I know continue to report increases ranging from 10% to more than 20%. As a real estate professional for over a decade, I have never encountered increases this steep in my own work. I tried to set up a self-guided tour, but that required downloading an app which was buggy and didn't even allow me to progress past the first screen (judging from the app store reviews, I'm not alone in this). So I booked a guided tour instead, but when I arrived they had no record of the reservation. I'm sure the units are nice. I would have liked to see them, but I don't like having to jump through hoops to do so.
Things are deteriorating rapidly, very sad. Please don't believe the high rating. Many of the 5-star reviews are artificially inflated, heavily pressured by the maintenance team guilt-tripping residents. Check yourself and you will see. Elevators have been out of commission for many months, frequently reducing the building to a single working elevator. The concierge services are excellent. A person who has consistently gone the extra mile to resolve issues for us is Sahil Musazade who has been here since we arrived a year ago. Collin laos has become a supportive friend to us during this time.
