The Bayou seems to be more of a gutted townhouse than a tavern. The first floor ceiling, covered by pinned-up dollar bills, hovers over the 40-foot bar as barkeeps distribute their potables. Upstairs, a smaller bar room also purveys drinks at reasonable prices. Beer, wine and spirits are served with appetizers, sandwiches and munchies. Yuengling bottles (a popular local beer) are a good bargain. In season, they have a special on Maryland crabs by the dozen.

Bayou is by far my favorite spot in Manayunk!! The waitress/bar tender Steph is me and my buddies favorite but the other girls are awesome too! The GM is great as well, very attentive to the want/ needs of his customers. Bayou definitely makes my happy hours even happier!
Love their food and drink specials! Can get packed during the school year but is still always worth a trip! Me and my friends always ask for Steph to be our waitress! She is by far the best waitress at the Bayou!
Awesome!! – The Bayou is AWESOME! This is definitely one of my favorite bars on Main Street. Everything about it is great, the daily specials, the amazing staff, the delicious food, I love it! Monday nights there are .20 wings that are clearly cheap, but also delicious!
Maybe to drink, not to eat – This place must serve old seafood or something. I had mega-diarrhea for two days after eating here.
always a good time – this is a great easy going place with tv's everywhere. friendly staff and beers are only 2.50. specials every day. only drawback is it crowded all the time.
Main Street's N'awlins-style college drinking fest, with cheap crabs. – In Short Patrons might be surprised if they look up--the ceiling is covered with dollar bills. The owners say they were inspired by a New Orleans tradition in which a man without pockets signed his name to a few dollar bills and left them at a bar. The Bayou is almost always hopping (and not just for the dollars on the ceiling), with plenty of drink and food specials to keep the 20-something crowd coming back.
Wowee, this is the place! – This has gotta be one of the best places to hang out on Main Street. Why spend a fortune at other places when you can feel right at home at the Bayou. The staff is very friendly and makes everyone feel welcome and appreciated. Overall this is the best place to come with a bunch of your friends, whether its just to hand out, have a private party, watch a game or just grab a bite. Saturdays are the best. The only thing wrong is that one of the bartenders on Saturday, the guy they call Pit is a littl... read more
Excitement galore – One on my best experiences on main street. The food was excellent and service was prompt. The bartenders and waitress were easy to get along with and attended to my needs. I have going to the Bayou Bar & Grill for two years and my expereince is excellent. The drink specials and and food specials are the best in the city. Sunday are the best with the NFL ticket and great bartenders. There is an excellent bartender they call Pit who knows everything about sports. He is a joy to listen to during the Eagles g... read more
