It's funny, they've got the flag with my skin tone on it outside, I'm gay, why not? So I came in with my bf and oh boy, the fear aura these guy gave off when we walked in was wild. They seemed almost terrified by our presence. So I made up and excuse and left. what's with white people in Irvington showcasing that flag and then being scared black people 🤔
This is the best barbershop I have ever been to! When I saw a "We Support Our Troops" banner hanging from the ceiling, right next to a Pride flag, I knew it was going to be something special! The diversity of people (on-staff and clientele) is amazing: Veterans, first responders, LGBTQ, men women & Non-Binary, and other folks young and old who come from all walks of life. Brought in my kiddo to clean up his summer mop. He had a great experience and said "This place is way cooler than (insert generic clips place)!" We had a young barber today. He is very talented and it was awesome to see the boss man taking time and attention to teach/share expertise. My son wants him to cut his hair again next time. 10/10 would recommend. But I'm bald... so this is based off me watching the care and attention given to a 6 year old. 🤣
I cannot speak higher of a local business. John and his team are beyond welcoming; Bareknuckles is the first and only barber shop in which I feel no nervousness or self-conscious to simply exist as myself. The environment is fun, inclusive, and a safe space. John and his team go above and beyond to ensure you leave with exactly what you wanted. As long as I live in Indiana, I’ll never look for another barber. Great business run by some incredible people!!
