Tonight I visited Aster for the first time. The atmosphere was cozy enough but unfortunately, the service and food were both below par. The salad was sopping wet with dressing and at 15 bucks, the sandwich better be big, tasty and special. It wasn't. Instead, it was small, uninspired and soggy. They get one more chance.
Aster Café is one of my favorite places to go. It is intimate, warm, and full of music (much of the time). Looking out the windows you see a gorgeous, picturesque background of the Minneapolis cityscape behind it and walking paths nearby to enjoy nature in the city. This is a Minneapolis must if you have never been!
Both dishes we tried were wonderful, music and staff was exceptional. Looking forward to going back!
Wonderful dining experience. The mood that was set was very relaxing. Outstanding service and excellent food. Highly recommend going there.
I love Aster's food and wait staff. I just can't figure out why it takes so long for the food to come. At first, I thought it may just be the day- but it's been like that each time I've been there (a half dozen). Otherwise, I love it! I just need to know that when I go, I must allow more time. :)
The atmosphere is very cool chill but a little too dark to read the menus. The bartenders made excellent drinks and the servicer was very friendly. Has one of the best views of downtown Minneapolis in the Fall. #AsterCafe
