I have stayed at The Ambrose twice now (2007 and 2015) and found it to be a fantastic place. The staff is delightful and the courtesy shuttle very convenient. The decor is perfect for as I am a fan of the Arts & Crafts/Mission Style movements. So far, I have not been able to partake of the breakfast because both times I stayed overnight for my hip replacement surgeries happening at St. John's Hospital around the corner. My next visit will be purely for pleasure!
It's a Beautiful and very confortable hotel. You feel at home.
I loved this hotel! I booked it for a friend (short notice) that was here to visit me from Boston. The weekend rate (Saturday) was more than reasonable and the accommodations were amazing. this hotel is gorgeous and unique! The only drawback is the $25 per day parking fee, I felt that was pretty outrageous. The rooms are beautiful, the gym is more than adequate and who cares that it doesn't have a pool? You are only five minutes from Santa Monica Beach (there is a free shuttle). A wonderful tourist hideaway:)
Went here for two days, booked without checking it up on TA. afterwards I saw that there were complaints on building noise etc... This is all done and this hotel is nothing but a pure gem! Friendly staff, very nice rooms and super comfy beds. It is very clean as well. The complementary breakfast does not include warm dishes like bacon and eggs but otherwise it was good and more than enough.
