The last couple of years have been a bit disappointing. There was no major acts to close out each night. When you brought such performers as the Barkays, Midnight Star and Zapp, etc., it was like the icing on the cake. The roster of performers were ok, but they were all more like opening acts. And two days of just opening acts were a bit much. It made me feel like the City of Raleigh was playing their African American community cheap. My family and I went Sunday Evening and HAD A BLAST!!!!!! Great food, interesting vendors and awesome LIVE entertainment!!!! Lots of fun!!!!
This is a great event!! I make sure to come home every year just to attend. I'm already looking forward to next years vendors and performers �
The African American Cultural Festival is more than fantastic! It is the sights, the sounds, the joy on faces, the participation of the people, the delicious foods, the performers, the interaction of the performers with the crowds, the quality of the vendors, the security, the education, the merging of the very young with the youth, the young adult and the elderly and so much more.
