Avoid gas appliances on new homes if TX Community Propane is the company providing services! – I have lived in Hutto 6 years and cannot believe the prices of propane in our area! Shame on the MainStreet builders and developers that struck a deal with these bandits! Yes my house payment is less , but the price of the utilities and the cost of gas for our commute is not worth it! Most Expensive Gas Service – The price of the gas is outrageously expensive. We have to think twice or three times in order to use our spa in the back yard. Their billing system with little post cards is bad as they often get lost in the mail (probably stuck in the junk mail) They don't have any other billing method. I have to call them to ask for a copy of the bill or I get charged a late charge. I wish we had a choice of company to get our gas from and would change immediately

There's no negative star.... – After 3!! on hold times, two customer service reps (I use the term customer service rep lightly,) and an EXTRA fee, I was finally allowed to make my payment over the phone. After the HUGE deposit, the "inspection" hassle (which was due to the incompetence of the service rep,) the bad customer service, and the high prices; I would think that having a customer trying to make a payment would be a joyous occasion. find someone else to go to – Texas Propane has very high deposits and low service. Don't try and carry over a balance they will shut you off and any late fee is subject to an additional full deposit, reconnect fee and any other fee they feel is necessary. Deposits are 250 for a homeowner and 300 for a renter. This is an absolute horrible company that should not even be in business. Extremely high administration costs – Regardless of your credit history, your deposit is $250 not refundable until you close your account. There is also a $95 non-refundable set up fee and $10.50 monthly administration charge even if you do not use any propane for the month. The propane costs are extremely high and the administration office has an "I don't want to talk to you" attitude I highly recommend that you find another source of gas source if you can.
