If I could give Tend Dental negative stars, I would. Tend tries way too hard to be trendy, and the entire experience feels like a production from the second you walk through the doors. For context, I’m 22 and have only ever had one cavity in my life. I had also been to my regular dentist just six months earlier with no major issues. I waited almost an hour to see the doctor. Then when I finally got back to get service, the hygienist took xrays and the doctor did the examination. The hygienist came back, raised my chair and begin to dismiss me before doing what I actually came to do which was to get my cleaning. I said what happened to my cleaning. The hygienist replied oh...let me read the chart. Smh.

Great Staff, HORRIBLE billing team. The dentist/hygienist folks at Tend navy yard do a tremendous job, but the people that handle their billing are more incompetent and greedier than sheep. They told me clearly that fluoride varnish is not covered by insurance, and the charge will be 39$. I pay them 39$ and leave, and a couple weeks later I get an invoice saying fluoride varnish is 60$, and so now I owe them 21$. I wish I had never come to Tend in Navy Yard. I had been a loyal Tend patient at the Arlington then the Capitol Hill location for last 5+ years. After my first cleaning at this location, a new doctor to me, misdiagnosed me, they recommended a crown for my back molar, when in fact I needed a root canal. I learned this after the fact/after the series of 6 additional visits to the office, and a lot of discomfort and time away from work.
