I saw the movie Detroit last Thursday at Temple University's AMC Broadstreet 7. The newly renovated AMC theater is very nice. There were new seats that lets you adjust the height and length. It was like siting in a comfort chair. Over all Temple's new theater was very comfortable. This was a special treat I haven't seen at other theaters. The movie Detroit was very powerful and moving. I am eternally grateful for the education I received at Temple. I graduated in 1982, at the age of 42, while working full time. Temple granted me credit for ancient college work, as well as credit for life experience. I attended what was then the School of Communication and Theater, learning from the legendary Dr. Sid Head and others, including Dr. Terry Parssinnen. The neighborhood stinks. I went to Temple over 50 years ago , the neighborhood stank then and still stinks now. But that's where our granddaughter wanted to go. As far a Temple, I don't see why some people think it's so great. With the type of students it attracts now with it's admittance qualifications it is second rate.
