Ted Cook's 19th Hole Barbeque joint has been serving high-quality, smoked beef and pork BBQ since 1968 and hence is a very popular BBQ take-out joint in the quiet neighborhood of Powderhorn. The meat is just perfectly cooked and glazed with home-made BBQ sauce. The place is a take out joint hence not big on space but the walls are adorned with awards that serve testimony to their delicious BBQ.

great ribs – soooooooooo delicious. havent had ted's in a while but stumbled across the profile today. hopefully when I return soon the recent reviews dont lie.
Best ribs north of Kansas City – A few friends and I ordered take out from three bbq places today. I had never been to Ted Cook's and frankly had not heard much about it locally. It blew away my expectations to say the least. The beef ribs were out of this world! They were very tender, had a wonderful smokey flavor, and very meaty. The meal came with fabulous potatoes and we also picked up a few corn muffins, both of which were outstanding. This bbq guy has had some great bbq across the country and has found a great local pl... read more
Best BBQ in Twin Cities and more! – This place has better ribs than the ones I've had in Kansas City! Sauce is awesome! The sides are so fresh and real soul food.......not that boiled and frozen stuff! When you drive by, the great smell lures you in..even if you're not hungry.
Best ever, but expensive – The ribs were excellent. They had a great smoky flavor and there was a lot of meat. If I remember right, we chose to get the hot ribs - they actually had a little bit of a kick. If you can handle spicy food, I recommend getting them hot. The only bad thing is that they were expensive. After living in the south for years and experiencing a lot of bbq, a full set of ribs should not be $20 unless they're accompanied by white linens. I was surprised it was that much considering the citysearch price tag... read more
Don't Do It!! – Don't go to the 19th Hole if you ever want to enjoy BBQ again somewhere else. I have eaten at most of the joints on this list at least half a dozen times and they are all very good in their own way. But any time I stray somewhere else, all I can think of is how much better the BBQ is at the 19th Hole. Sure, like any great BBQ joint, they have thier ups and downs, but it is consistantly way above average. And when they are "on", there is nothing better anywhere. Not even close. If Cooks doesn't turn you on... ... read more
Yum! – It's hard to find good bbq in minnesota. This is the best stuff you'll find in the area. While I've had better in other parts of the country, I still gleefully pick up dinner there on may way home from work on a lot of Fridays. We love the bbq beef. Coleslaw, corn muffins and beans are a must of course! Not so big on their potatoes though so I'd recommend you skip that.
Real barbecue – One of the few places in the Twin Cities that is worth going to for good bbq. Take out only. Not a huge selection, but most things here are better than anywhere else around. Sad to say, the pork ribs are the worst thing on the menu, and I wouldn't even get them again. But, in order, I will swear by the beef (even if not brisket), the beef ribs, and the chicken (even if pretty dry). This is one of the few places that actually has a little kick to the hot sauce.
Only place for BBQ – Although I've only had the ribs, other have enjoyed the other options on the list. My 3 year old daughter will even eat a half rack of mild ribs!!! They are the best in the cities, or anywhere else for that matter.
THE BEST – The best I've been enjoying these woderful ribs since the late Ted Cook and his wife were the only emplyees. Always a treat!!! I have never been diappointed in all those years, except when they ran out before I got my order. My preference is hot but medium is great.
