Our local NY553 has done absolutely nothing for us. Sanitation District breaks rules regularly, promotes people to supervisory positions without qualifications, breaks contract on a daily basis. Our delegate rarely shows his face or returns calls. If he does it's usually to just shrug his shoulders and tell us we have no say in the matters. I may as well just burn my monthly dues for the amount of representation I get. Very disappointing for a union that was once at the top.

I owe a lot to the Teamsters they gave me a good childhood by giving my dad, a member of Local 251 -East Providence, RI, a good living for himself and his family. For me, it meant great Christmases and Vacations, etc. For him, it meant the personal luxuries such as a boat and a new Cadillac every other year. Thank you Teamsters.
Beholden to the Democratic Party at all cost, the schleps that pay your salary......not so much!
We are all we got!! Move as 1 so we can have true Democracy in and out of the workplace..

A big Thank you to my business agent, at Local 41. I was terminated from my job yesterday, for a bogus reason. We had a hearing this morning. I got my job back.
