Worth a visit!!! – Steaks melt in your mouth. The selection of breads is wonderful!!
Mid-Range Quality at best – Regardless of reputation, this establishment remains mid-range in quality of its beef. Spend the few extra dollars and move up to higher-end quality found at Ruth's Chris and Pappas Brothers
Simply the Best – Absolutely the BEST! I have tried nearly every steak in town. Those who say Taste of Texas is not worth the money, then go on to say that Pappa's is better, need a reality check. Taste of Texas has the best steaks in Houston. Tender and flavorful. The quality of the meat is second to none. Thanks Taste of Texas!
$30 steaks and plastic flowers??? – Mediocre food - mediocre service - definitely NOT worth the wait or the pricetag.
A Star amoung Stars – Houston has some terrific steak to offer. However, Taste of Texas is remarkable. You can select your own steak or allow your serve to make the selection. Everything my party (4 of us) tried was exceptional. As a matter of fact, their menu states that they bet you have never had better (and can prove it).
DOESN'T TAKE RESERVATIONS--PLEEEASE! – I just can't believe someone would go to a place and get TAKEN like this. A great steak is wonderful but a great steak at these SOOOO stick-it-to-you prices and WE DON'T TAKE RESERVATIONS attitude ---no thanks! In fact I'm a good cook and I can match these flavors for....oh lets see 10% of what they charge! I can't beleive they are even in the top 10!!! Ambience means best steak? – I am a fan of Taste of Texas and have enjoyed their Texas ambiance for entertaining guests for a long time. However, to say that their steaks are the best in town is just not true. They do have good food and the salad bar is impressive but the quality of meat isn't what you would fine at the more traditional high-end steakhouses i.e. Ruth Chris, Morton's, Pappas etc. I would also say that I've gotten cuts of meat at Outback that have been much higher quality than the ones at Taste of Texas. Bad night at the NOT SO Taste of Texas – I went with three friends. I had a short wait with a helpful bartender. We ordered. Forty minutes after finishing our salads, our waitress finally explained our meal was late due to large parties. Ten minutes later, a manager noticing our delay offered complimentary desserts explaining our meal would be another 8 minutes.
