They told me that it’s required by FL law to have X-rays once a year when in fact that is not true-Florida law does not regulate the practice of dentistry to the degree of mandating how often patients are to be X-rayed. I dont want the radiation every year and they refused to clean my teeth without having the X-rays.
RecommendedI don’t have enough positive words in my vocabulary to express how great the team is at this location. Dr. Shanaka is one of the nicest human beings to exist. His office is staffed the same way. Don’t have any fears coming here. Express your concerns and you will be heard and cared for properly. A+++
As a new patient, I had an excellent experience at Tarpon Shores Dental (St. Armands). From scheduling to the front desk to x-ray techs to Dr. Shanaka....everyone was so welcoming! Dr. Shanaka took the time to explain and review every part of my initial dental examination. Natalie, my hygienist, was, gentle and efficient. I was particularly impressed with the use of technology in this dental practice. Overall, a wonderful experience which I highly recommend.

Who would ever think that going to a dental office would be fun? This morning, my visit to Tarpon Shores Dental on St. Armand’s Circle, Sarasota, Florida was both enjoyable and educational. The entire procedure was pain free. I was a new client. A crown fell off a molar; I called Tarpon Shores Dental, and the gracious receptionist scheduled an appointment at a time convenient for me. Love the dental care I receive at Tarpon Shores, Sarasota. My dentist, Shanaka Weerasooriya and hygienist, Stacey are superb! They take the time to explain procedures and offer wonderful care. Others in the office are friendly are friendly and helpful too especially Courtney the office manager.
