The Raw Story about Sustainable Seafood – They serve three kinds of oysters – NW Olympia, Gulf from Texas and NW Totten. I was impressed by the readily identifiable types, which apparently all receive high marks for sustainability. Next, I perused the specials of the day. Swordfish and Wahoo sandwiches and white Gulf shrimp all seem to be good choices on the most popular consumer guides. Best seafood restaurant in the Gables – Great staff and management. Always consistent service and nice, Miami crowd. My favorite time to go is on Friday nights.
Bad Lunch! – The best part of the lunch today was the greeting from the hostess. I really have never been a fan however it is near the office and we did not want to drive. Anyways - I ordered the special, the shrimp stir fry. You would think for a $16 lunch plate it would taste better than a frozen meal. Our server was a ghost - she took the order and disappeared. I think I will stick to their happy hour - no more lunches for me.
Excellent food, great service – Everything I've ordered here has been amazing. Highly recommended for the crab cakes. The bar also whips up some tasty drink creations or they have a good selection of beer. Parking is of course a problem (like everywhere else on miracle mile) but it's worth it and they are open pretty late on the weekends.
2 for 1 Happy Hour – Now you know 2 for 1 always leads to a good time!! I have not tried the food at Tarpon Bend as of yet, but I will say they put on one heck of a good Happy Hour!! prompt seating – Whenever I want to eat somewhere that looks nice, but inexpensive I like coming here. The food is good, the service can be a little better. The place in general is pretty, its a very chill enviornment without the cost of somewhere pricey. The food is very good, despite not having a very large menu.
GOOD FOR HAPPY HOURS. – PRETTY GOOD TO HANG OUT WITH COMPANIES, TO DRING SOMETHING IN THE HAPPY HOURS, BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, BEAUTIFUL PLACE. THE FOOD IS NORMAL FOOD, NOTHING WOW... Great Seafood in the Gables – We just took some friends here and really enjoyed the fare. Fish was fresh and the menu had a lot of options, from burgers to salads to the more elegant herb seared tuna (what we chose). Portions were good, we shared an entree and had room for the amazing banana coconut cream pie. Everyone in our party said the seafood was really excellet, so we all left very happy!
Good food & drinks, nice casual ambience – This is a nice place to go on the weekends. The food is very good and offers surprisingly good burgers (since it is a primarily a seafood place). Full bar with a large variety of martinis which makes it a good weekend spot. They usually offer a nice selection of oysters. There is a nice area outside with tables and couches which makes it an ideal location to gather with friends. And the prices are good. We really enjoy this place.
