Adios Mios – I walked in by happenstance, just trying to get something to eat before heading downtown. I was visiting the outer Mission. Been in the neighboorhood once before to eat at Blue Plate. "Al Pastor burrito," I said to the guy behind the counter. Everyone was very pleasant. A few minutes later, he came to me with the burrito. I ate it as I walked down the street, slowly unwrapping the aluminum foil. Looked good. Took a bit*e. I had to look down at the burrito again, in disbelief. If you never eat here, you will neve... read more
Is it why vegetarians love it so much? (wink wink) – I loved my super-burrito: excellent tortilla (it's not, but it really tastes like it's homemade), yummy carne asada, drooling sour cream, a pinch of cilantro and big slices of avocado. It's too bad however they don't have lettuce and tomato - especially for my girlfriend who ordered the veggie kind. She found hers a bit sad with only rice, beans and avocado. She still loved the taste, though, to the point we wondered if they don't add a little "special" ingredient to the r... read more
Best Mexican in SF – Not only does this place serve the BEST burritos in San Francisco, they're also insanely cheap (the most impressive item, the Burrito Mojado, is only $4.80). The listing here says they're open until 1:45 am, but it's actually considerably later on Friday nights (it can't be any earlier than 2 when I walked in). Great place to go after hitting any of the many bars in the Mission. One caveat: if you don't enjoy spicy food (I do), you might want to control what they put into your item.
the canadian dream – It is known that mexican food in canada is pretty horrible and bland. I've been to san francisco 3 times and ate there every time. The third time was part of a month long roadtrip throughout the U.S.. I admit that the only thing i thought of during the whole trip was the day we would get to san francisco so i could finally eat my taqueria cancun veggie burrito. Having travelled throughout north america multiple times, i am positive this is not only the tastiest and biggest burritos i've ever had, it is a... read more
Never LIKED burritos til Cancun – I was an avid burrito-hater until I gave into the peer pressure to try Cancun. I am in love with their veggie burrito and burrito mojado (wet back). Plus, the guys that work there are total sweethearts and the service is always quick and easy. I have tried a lot of their menu items (the quesadilla w/chicken is to die for, if a little greasy) and enjoy most everything. As someone who detests "fast food" in general, I have been converted where Cancun is concerned. And unlike many taquerias, th... read more
Best Burritos by far – Yep, I've been to La Taqueria down the street and TC wins - every person I have taken to both agree (that's not saying La Taqueria is not great in its own right). Sure the burittos can fall apart if you don't know what you're doing, but the flaky tortilla is part of the magic. Still, this is the best burrito I've found in the US.
best burrito in America – These burritos are the best in the nation. You will be shocked and amazed at how good they are. You'll keep coming back over and over again.
Addictive veggie burritos.. – Order the veggie burrito. The first one's not free but it's cheap and it's full of pinto beans, salsa, rice, half an avocado, sour cream, and is habit forming.
Mexican burrito joint as was intended – Taqueria Cancun is the reason one lives in California. Excellent, cheap Mexican food with hot sauce to clear your sinuses. Parking is Mission typically nightmarish, but you're usually eating there while wandering the bars. The service is well, non-existent since you're order from the counter, but I wouldn't have it any other way. The vast majority of the time, it's safe, but every now and then you'll get an aggressive gangster or drunk. The corn quesadillas are a must try. Mmm... read more
