Visit Table 1280 and High Museum of Art – Compared to what was previously available at the High, this restaurant is much needed. Food quality was excellent, although portions were small for the price. Wait staff was pleasant, but not well trained. Our waitress didn't check silverware according to what we ordered so we had to flag someone down and get a knife for quail and a spoon for soup. She also didn't know how to pronounce some of the items on the menu. We were there for lunch and the noise level was miserable. Call ahea... read more
Not good if you want to catch the Symphony – This is not the place if you want to squueze in some quick food before going to the ASO. The service was poor - slow and understaffed. The food was very elegant in presentation, but not worth the money.
No, thanks! – If you are used to having nice dinners and don't mind spending money on enjoying a high class experience, this is NOT THE RESTAURANT. I thoroughly look forward to trying out new restaurants every week and I don't mond shelling out the cash for it however, the money you spend on Table 1280 for what you get, is NOT WORTH IT! I think the chef believes he will be feeding people with no appetites. The ambience I have to say is wonderful, however, the amount of food you get will make you laugh. The service was ok. Delicious Minimalism – Having eaten at several similar restaurants around the country, I found this to be a delight. Unlike the other reviews, the service was excellent with only a hint of snobbery, which in my opinion, is part of the atmosphere. Clean, elegant, bright, minimal... the few things that add to the ambience, such as the neon light bar, are stunning in such an atmosphere and because that is your only focal point, besides the food, and your company, bring someone you enjoy. The food was well prepared, though the c... read more
Atlanta is not ready for 1280 – So far no one has given props to Renzo Piano for designing such a beautiful space as 1280. The decor is supposed to be stark. The service is supposed to be brute and the food is right on the money. Table 1280 is more affordable than a lot of fine dining restaurants in Atlanta. Stop whining about small portions and poor service and have a drink and relax. That is what I think these guys are trying to tell you when you come into a place like 1280. If its not for you then great there is more room... read more
What a Let Down – I had been excited about dining at Table 1280 due to all of the recent hype, but guess that hype is no more than simple publicity & exaggeration. Service was atrocious and we really got tired of hearing the chef screaming and cursing every known four letter word. I know that Halibut is a cold water fish, but did they poach it in icy Atlantic? Bland, unseasoned and cold. Scallops were small and overcooked, If I had wanted a sorry seafood experience, I would have gone to Red Lobster and saved $50; sadly, it m... read more
A Food High at the New High – Technically, it is an addition to the Woodruff, but it is just outside the door of the new High. I took a date for dinner after four of us went to the Wyeth exhibit and we all thought the meal was great. The tapas bar is a cool place and you can sit outside on the plaza if it is a nice night. We had chicken on grits and hangar steak, both great. The couple with us had a selection of appetizers -- foie gras and squash soup and whatever the special was. My date and I skipped appetizers but all fou... read more
Very nice experience – My companion and I really enjoyed the food and service.
Not so Fabulous... – My boyfriend and I went to visit during the grand opening of the High Museum for a fun date night. We were looking forward to a fabulous dinner but ended up quite dissappointed. the food is very bland and lacks major flavor. the presentation was cute and modern but nothing stood out. to really enjoy the restuarant i suggest hanging out at the hip bar and munching on some tapas.
