Both my son and granddaughter have rare auto immune disorders (he has followed my adult son's progress as part of an ongoing study). Dr. Atkinson has not only prolonged their lives but has improved the quality of their lives. He is compassionate, professional, and very competent. I highly recommend Dr. T. Prescott Atkinson.

If not for this man, my son would not have made it to 15yrs old let alone alive. When my son was 8 months old or so he kept having a very bad ear infection & baby thrush. I had been to many doctors from home & to UAB. Prescribe many different medications, none seem to work. I took him one night (which was a 2hr drive in a poc car) to children's hospital in Birmingham. Just to be told I was a young mother & I wasn't giving him his meds right or he would be fine. I argued u was & something was wrong. I was still discharged & a... read more

My daughter has a rare genetic disorder and was born without a thymus, therefore she has no immune system. Dr. Atkinson and his team have gone above and beyond advocating for her. She’s now going for a transplant and will be able to have a normal life afterwards.
