I had a visit with my regular phy and I told her my Ortho Dr I was seeing didn't care about me or my treatment anymore. She told me she would only have Dr Symbas operate on her. What a wonderful , knowledgeable Dr. He was very caring about little things like helping me on & off the table . He also told me the right diagnosis of my hip. I had been told the wrong one for yrs. He set up treatment for me immediately . I'm not in excruciating pain anymore and have Dr Symbas & Dr Shilling to thank. If you can't get through my long ... read more
I went to see Dr Symbas for a suspected hip labral tear. They took an MRI of my knee (accident in sending in the order I suppose) then I asked why they didn't scan my hip and he ordered a second scan. The second scan confirmed a tear in my right labrum. He basically said there is nothing I can do then gave me a fist bump. I suppose I'll go elsewhere because he had literally zero interest in helping me.
From my first sport's injury post college and six procedures later (3 shoulder surgeries, two patella tendon repairs in both knees, ect ) all in a span of 20 years. Im still able to run and lift weights at 56 years old. Not only were the procedures and recovery on point. The PT was very good. Based on my referral and relationship with him and his staff, Both my mother and best friend have had successful knee replacements. There are plenty of professionals out there but his caring spirit and overall knowledge of his craft and... read more
Very knowledgeable. Very personable.
Pre-operatively, my experience was exceptional (that’s why only 3 stars). From the surgery scheduler to the nurse navigator; everyone was professional and addressed any concerns I had. My surgery went well (as far as I know) and the clinical staff were also highly skilled, professional and addressed my concerns. The problem is now with my recovering at home/post-operatively. Although Dr Symbas is very courteous and a great surgeon; I’m not pleased at the way he or his staff have NOT addressed my post op needs and concerns. I... read more
Dr. Symbas has been my orthopedist for longer than I care to remember. Among other things, he has replaced both my knees. In addition to being a very competent surgeon, he is absolutely one of the most caring human beings I know. He is warm and approachable and has a great sense of humor. He is experienced and knowledgeable. I can’t imagine having anyone else care for my ancient bones.
My wife had an appointment to see Dr. Symbas but was seen by a PA instead who could not answer a lot of her questions. Too bad because we made wanted to see Dr. Symbas himself. We wont be using OrthoAtlanta in the future.
I must have seen Dr. Symbas on a bad day. He was referred to me by my internist. He was not helpful at all to me. He told me I most likely had a labral tear and literally told me to Google it. He was rushed, he never looked at my paperwork as it still sat on the chair in the room with us. I won't go back to him.
I am so impressed for doctor Symbas and The whole staff. Superior care all the way.
