I ordered 6 champagne cupcakes a few weeks ago and wasn't impressed with the taste. The price was kind of steep at $15 for 6 when you can go to Hy Vee and get 6 for $5. Scratch cupcakes which are one of the best cupcakes are even cheaper for only $2 a piece and these aren't anything special at almost $3 per cupcake. I wanted to try out a local bakery only 5 min away from home for a change but will drive to West Des Moines

Kelsey, thanks for your review, as a small shop that makes everything from scratch, we strive to keep our prices low but the cost of ingredients ultimately determines our prices, we use real ingredients like butter and cream, nothing artificial. Hyvee can produce mass amounts of cupcakes cheaper than we can, and they also charge $2.50/cupcake for their high end flavors, Scratch also probably has this advantage too. We were happy to make these cupcakes especially for you and would love to have you try us again!

VERY DISAPPOINTED!! I don’t usually give bad reviews, but I feel this needs attention, or help someone when making a decision to go with this bakery. This is my first time using Sweet to Eat Cake Shop and Bakery. I have put in an order for a dozen red velvet custom cupcakes. The design is a cap and a diploma for my brother’s graduation party. I bought a birthday cake and some cake balls from this shop. The cake was wonderfully decorated and DELICIOUS!!! The cake balls were so amazing, especially the peanut butter ones. Everyone loved both the cake and the cake balls. I will purchase here again!!!!
I ordered a cake just to see if they could make it, they did not disappoint and fulfilled what they promised.10/10 would order again!
We loved everything we have tried so far!!! The kids were huge fans of the cinnamon rolls and I could eat the buckeyes all day, everyday!!! Such a Great place, the service was fantastic and friendly.

I have yet to eat the cakes I order from you, because by the time the "hostess" gets a piece... they are gone! Not only adorable, reasonably priced, but they are delicious! Michelle is a delight, realistic, and pours her heart into every treat!
Cute store with nice staff and of course the treats are sweet !
