I am editoring my review, which you will see. What can I say from 7 years ago? This place was great. 5 stars, all the way. I went last night September 10, 2026 and disappointed is an understatement. First and foremost Sweet Potato is in need of a makeover. As an employee I would be depressed working under such dark and unattractive esthetics. The food has fallen like it fell off a cliff. There was a bit of an issue with my order this evening that had me very frustrated. However the owner went above and beyond to clear it up. My family was very pleased and happy with their food. Thank you Mr. Sean from your loyal customer.

Given everything Black people are navigating right now, I make a point of supporting Black-owned restaurants. The first time I visited this one, a few years back, the food was really good. Sadly, I can’t say the same this time around. The fried chicken was just okay, the collard greens and mac and cheese were both underwhelming, and the ribs were decent enough.
