Love It!!!! – I love dining st Sweet Lorraine's. It's always a treat! You can be adventurous and try something new or if you have a boring eater in the group, there's the usual fare as well. I absolutely LOVE the house salad!! Always something new...which keeps me coming back!
Ate there 3-4 times due to a friend who liked it. I think she just got off on the hip decor and failed to notice how poor the food was. Entrees I had ranged from passable to pathetic. One time I went out for a smoke after the meal and got locked out (near closing time). I went back in through the kitchen and it looked like a disaster area. I haven't been in a whole lot restaurant kitchens, but this was definitely the filthiest I've ever seen.
The first time I ate here it was one of the best meals I've ever had. I couldn't wait to go back. The second time we went to the Detroit location. The food was not good. It was right before closing so I thought maybe they were scraping the bottom of the barrel to complete our orders. We tried the Southfield location again during dinner service. Again, not so good. DANGEROUS! – I USED to love this place!! About a month ago service, and food slipped dramatically. At first it was just over-cooked, or late, but then worst possible thing happened. I ordered my favorite, the traverse city pasta with chicken. I got my meal after a 45 minute wait, starving, I dug in. After a few bites I noticed something strange about the chicken, so, I took a closer look. IT WAS UNCOOKED! Completely pink. I was astonished, and very upset. Boutique feel in a restaurant This is a beautiful eclectic restaurant with unique meals. Service is very attentive and the wine selection is big. The menu has seasonal choices and all all prettily arranged on your plate.
Total Rip Off – This place was a total rip off for catering. They charged (for 12 people) $20 delivery PLUS add'l $50 for a 20% automatic service charge, even if they were late. Total bill was $360 and the food was just std catering fare. I should have waited to get the total, but they made me wait 5 minutes so I gave up. Called to discuss the $70 service charge and after 2 weeks got absolutely no resolve. Don't bother.
terrible I went here with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. It was horrible right from placing the call for a reservation!! Our dinner order was all goofed up, in fact, I never even GOT a dinner! Didn't even offer to comp us! Bad!
Sweet Loraine's Cafe – I've never had a bad meal at Sweet Loraine's. Have not tried the location in downtown Detroit, but assume that it is as good.
BEST Everything – Food was great would eat there again and again... loved it.... Flavor Flavor Flavor.... Great atmosphere, the service was very good. Our group was very happy...
