If my diabetic son that also has Gastroparesis is on the verge of DKA, won't stop throwing up, and can't keep fluids down, we have to drive him all the way to the hospital down in Roseville to get decent care. Otherwise every stinking time Sutter Auburn just gives him fluids and releases him and tells us to come back when he's DKA. Even though he's still throwing up and will be back in two hours so we just end up taking him to Roseville. NO OTHER HOSPITAL DOES THIS! It's absolutely infuriating, careless and thoughtless. I am a veteran and I usually go to the VA but when the Corona virus outbreak started, the VA wouldn't let me in even though I was actively having an asthma attack. They sat me out in the rain and no one even tried to provide care. They were so caught up in protocol that they were willing to ignore an emergency . I was able to get back to my car and drive to Sutter where they got me in immediate started treatment because by then I was truly struggling to breathe. I can never forge... read more
