Our 17 year old is a great kid, but has some anger issues. Dr. Steve has helped him in his unique style of counseling. He brings truth, honesty and REALISTIC situations that have helped our son. There is no coddling around his behavior. Our son enjoys his joke telling stories and actually looks forward to his next session. Our son has been going to Dr. Sussman for a year. When he began therapy, he was having severe problems at school and home Dr. Sussman's approach to therapy is unique with dramatic results. We are incredibly pleased with our son's progress which his school has acknowledged. Dr. Steve is great! The methods he uses are working and I love how he talks to kids in the group. Because it is a group setting, kids are happy to participate and talk and learn from other kids's mistakes. I love how much he helped our daughter, even though she was skeptical at the beginning and unsure if she wanted to participate. We heard of Dr. Sussman from a family friend. I was willing to try anything because my daughter’s behavior was out of control. I’m just a few months here behavior and her attitude have improved. I’m so glad we came.
My daughter is 11 years old. She was very shy and lacked confidence. She had trouble staying focused and following directions. Now my daughter is popular in school, has excellent grades, and does what is asked of her after asking only once. Dr. Sussman is awesome!!!
We have been taking our child to Dr. Steve for about 8 months now on a recommendation from a local school. We were skeptical at first but over time began to see the results in our child. The system Dr. Steve uses is something we embraced at home and our child's behavior has improved A LOT. Also the community/peer aspect is a helpful part too! We definitely recommend Dr. Steve to anyone who is looking for child behavioral support.
Dr. Steve is just what our family needed. His deep knowledge and experience with ADHD children has been very reassuring as we navigate life with a child with ADHD. One of the things we value the most is that he is not the typical therapist that can bore the hell out of the child. He delivers a firm message across, and my child actually pays attention, he listens and makes an effort to improve. Dr. Steve is also making himself available all the time which has been great. Dr. Sussman was helpful for coming up with a plan for my daughter as we were in the looking at some neurological and behavioral issues that were really confusing and overwhelming for my family. My daughter had been sent back twice from school for hitting other children and I had hit my lowest point as a parent. We called Dr Sussman as our daughter was facing multiple challenges at school. We were lost, calling everyone we could and reached multiple voicemails. Dr Sussman called back and explained his unique philosophy of treating children in distress. As more news came from school I left him a message and he called back, spent time understanding our unique situation, gave us advice and offered to talk to the school and advocate for my daughter and place us on the waitlist for him.
