About this business

Owner Takashi Soda opened SushiSake in 1997. New customers consistently join longtime clientele in visiting this superb sushi bar. Mr. Soda's meal preparation approach is assertive, and a host of chefs behind the counter reflect his attitude. This stunning spot draws North Dallas nightlife with its traditional Japanese ambiance. House specialties are Toro, Broiled Eel and Spicy Tuna Roll. As the name implies, sake is very important at Sushisake. Premium sakes are always featured items. A full bar is also available.

Sushi was pretty good. I wish they offered fried rice with entrees. Service was extremely slow...they weren't very busy when I first got there either so it wasn't that. Overall a good experience. I'd probably go back next time I'm in Richardson.

We frequent this restaurant whenever we can, date night for the married folk... You're seated quicker when you don't have a preference of bar or table sitting. We've enjoyed the company of strangers many times at the communal tables so try it. Food is always fresh and the board specials are something you won't find in many other restaurants. It's a family run business and they are always friendly staff to assist you. We love this place. We have NEVER had a bad night and we've been here too many times to keep count.

Business response:

You can never go wrong with sushi for date night, Anice. Our team works hard to offer up the best experience for our customers by serving up the freshest sushi and providing a quaint atmosphere, so I'm excited to hear that you're loving it. I hope to have you back again sometime soon to serve up some more of your favorites. -Takashi, Owner

I had heard many good things about this restaurant and our first time was for my wife's birthday. I was extremely disappointed especially since this was an important occasion. There were 6 sushi chefs working and it still took 45 minutes to get 3 simple rolls. The restaurant was full but no one was waiting to be seated yet I was given the excuse that they were too busy. 2 hours and 45 minutes to have a meal is not acceptable especially when it is overpriced.

Business response:

I know how important birthdays are, so I do want to apologize about the lack of speedy service, Robert. When it's a full house, fresh and delectable sushi can take some time to prepare. We never want to fall short of quality during our top hours. We would love to have you back to show you a five-star experience. -Takashi, Owner
