When I was 16, I made an appointment to get prescribed birth control, my periods were irregular and painful. I also told her I was sexually active but that was not my main reason for wanting birth control. She told me if I took birth control throughout my young adult years, it would be "much harder to get pregnant" later in life, that having sex without dating or being married is degrading and men must be "worthy" of my body. I felt judged, uncomfortable, and utterly shocked. Never going back.
Dr. Susan is one of those doctors children find comfort in being around. She is soft spoken, honest, and forward about details. She describes what a shot will be like, and is empathetic to their pains. She too, has children and I love she always seems to remember to ask me (the mom) how "I" am doing. She gives us a heads up of what to expect, what may be happening, and when to be and not to be alarmed. She is very good at calming us donw!
We Love Dr B! and her team -Dr B has a great straight forward manner and good repoire with our kids- she explains everything well & answers our many questions (especially as first time parents!) and makes sure we do have an understanding before we leave. The office is friendly and accommodating - the on call, after hour, weekend services & care that we have received for our two toddlers (since birth) has been fantastic - even through some very nerve racking diagnosis and procedures.
