What a disappointment! – My husband and I went with high expecations from the rave reviews the restuarants had been given on Citysearch. What a LETDOWN. The quality of the food left much to be desired. It was mediocre at best. We've had better at some of the hole in the wall restaurants in the city, and paid FAR LESS for it. For $60/course, we were expecting much more from the dinner. The club was built as a platform for artists to showcase their skills. With that, I was hoping to see performances that would take my breath a... read more

Great place to take the adventurous visitor. – I'd have to disagree with naysayers. The food was a VERY tasty blend, nothing gamey or spicy. Different, but pleasing. My favorites were a goat cheese ravioli with lobster in a lemon yogurt sauce and a light pastry with creamy sauced veggies inside. Yum. The only complaints from our large group were from someone visiting from the midwest who basicly only eats beef, breads, and potatoes... and he liked 3 of the 5 courses. The entertainment ranged from downright weird to very ecle... read more

It's a tourist trap – Either the folks giving rave reviews ar tourist or were just really drunk. I went out of curiousity. For the amount of money that I paid, I expected better food, better service, and real entertainment. The chocolate cake tasted like one of those packaged made cakes that can sit in your pantry because of all the preservatives. There is a long wait between servings so this is their opportunity to push alcohol on you. Great business strategy but you can end up a with a $200 bill/per person. When we stopped... read more

very disappointing – My guest and I arrived at 7:10, and were told that we'd be seated at 7:30. We didn't get into the dining room until past 8! When our waiter asked me if I liked sweetbreads with my salad, I said I didn't, and was told to just "push them aside" when the plates arrived. He also "jokingly" called us cheap after we stopped ordering drinks. I could not finish the substandard food, despite the meager portions, and we were left with empty stomachs and a $200 bill. The so-called "entertainment" portion of the nig... read more

Perfect for a unique night out! – We went to the Supper club last night (on a sunday) and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere, of course, was hip and very unique, and the food was great as well. I'm a vegetarian & I actually didn't feel (like at some places) that they tossed whatever non-meat items on my plate that they had lying around the kitchen. The food seemed thoughtfully put together and very tasty! I went with one other person and we both thought it would be a great place to go with a big group of people. It i... read more

Needs more than a gimmick – Atmosphere is probably the best. The food looked a lot better than it tasted. The waiter served my pregnant wife raw fish even when we told him before not to. Bar service is slow. Crowd was about 5 deep to the circular bar on Saturday night, even though the bartenders were trying. The manager is super pretentious and likes to be seen ordering the staff around. He banged on the bathroom door incessantly and yelled for me to get out, as if I were in his house. DJs are pretty lame considering SF stan... read more

Supperclub's adjacent lounge draws a lively SoMa crowd with its exotic scene and saucy service. – The Scene Annexed off La Salle Neige--supperclub's dining and performance space--this small bar serves as both the restaurant's pre-seating waiting area and a nightclub in its own right. Done up almost entirely in crimson red, the retro-chic space boasts padded, faux-leather walls, glittery disco balls and a round, metallic-plated bar. A second pint-sized room, lined with floor-to-ceiling mirrors, is covered with giant white mat... read more

Poser Alert – If you want to be seen and pay for overpriced popcorn, this is your bag baby. While the setup is unique, there is very little to make a person want to come back more than once.

Entertaining – I'm from Manhatten and was in San Francisco for one night last week before heading up to Seattle for business. A colleague took me to supperclub which was an interesting and entertaining experience. The 5 course meal was good and extremely reasonable at $50. Very urban crowd and uber cool music. I've been to other restaurants with the eating in "bed" concept so that wasn't as fresh for me. But, I had a great time.
