I received a chimney inspection from Superior Chimney. The technicians were on time, pleasant and professional. They gave me a report on a few problems and the cost of services to fix them. I decided to do nothing at this time since winter was near and to wait for spring. There was no pressure to do anything.
I needed a new chimney liner due to my chimney had the original clay liner (for furnace and hot water heater). A mason I hired previously suggested stainless steel. Did my research and contacted 3 Chicago area chimney sweeps who also specialize in installing liners. Each company that came out was courteous, respectful, diligent and informative in telling me what I needed and why.
