Food was bland – So a coworker suggested Sunset 44 as a good place to dine. I reviewed their menu online and was excited by many of the disheson their menu. My daughter and I decided to go for dinner yesterday. We're always looking for new places to dine. I ordered the chicken two ways chicken pot pie and fried chicken. In addition to the good food and friendly service, the extensive wine list includes many reasonably priced bottles. The freshly-baked cookies at the end of the meal were a nice touch.

A hidden gem Great food and service. My 9oz fillet was perfect, higher quality beef than some other, more popular, local steakhouses(and cheaper to boot). Nice wine selection(you can even get bottles to go) and decent beer list. The lavosh and cheese that greats you on the tables is great! A bit expensive(My 9oz was $30 I think), but definitely worth it. The service was friendly and expedient . I highly recommend this place.

Excellent food & service – We've dined at Sunset 44 numerous times over the last 5 years and have never been anything other than pleased with our entire experience. My husband & I have gone there on an evening out, we've taken our 3 children, and we've gone with friends & their children (total of 7 kids). We've always felt welcome and comfortable. The service is always fantastic. The lavosh & cheese spread are irresistable, the bread (different each time) is always enjoyable, the crab cakes are incredible, and the atmosphere... read more

always a great experience – i always have wonderful food at this restaurant. the service is great. the bread with the meal and the flat bread (lavosh) and beer cheese is one of the reasons why i continue to go there. it is a great place that is hidden away in kirkwood. i strongly recommend.
