Stopped by this little Gem of a place for lunch during our road trip and I have never had BBQ this good before. Not what we expected at all. Everything was absolutely amazing. The view, the service, the atmosphere and the food were way beyond our expectations. Definitely our new place to stop when we make these trips.

The taco sampler with grilled okra was a great choice for my first time there. Delicious! And the staff was so warm and friendly we felt right at home. We also enjoyed the great view of lookout mountain from outside....we will be back!

Driving back home and we decided to stop and have a bite! So glad we did! Darrell was so welcoming and ran us down the menu and gave us the 411 on this Family owned restaurant. Super friendly staff. Lisa our Server was awesome, very knowledgeable and attentive. Food was excellent, a variety of BBQ Sauces on table ... Juke Box playing and the smell of BBQ and smoked chicken lingering around. �� The freshly made Banana Pudding was delicious... only problem ... I probably gained 10lbs today and in need of a nap. Our waitress was super nice, but never received our extra napkins or my drink refill, the potatoes were just a little to hard for us to enjoy, we dined on the patio- the sauces outside were so thin I didn’t eat any of them... i really love the place n location... just a little improvement would be better... thanks for the 1st time visit tho...

I loved it tonight as my family has for the last at least 20 years! We travel from Birmingham to North Carolina, usually after a full day of work. Sugar’s is a perfect stop to have a great meal, incredible service (Lisa takes such good care of us and all others!).... and more importantly picking up “Ribs for Home”.... slabs of ribs smoked and ready to throw into a oven, heat up, add their special sauce..... and voila.... an incredible meal! We have made a habit of taking these with us to the mountains of NC to give to friend... read more

I’m originally from Memphis and a self proclaimed “BBQ snob.”My brother came to visit from NC and wanted BBQ close to what we grew up on. I really enjoyed the BBQ chicken legs, okra and greens. I literally drank the greens broth! SO YUMMY! He loved his butt sandwich and Mac and cheese! We stuck with the sweet and goopy sauce.
