I like to think of Door County as my home away from home. So welcoming, great boutiques, restaurants, and coffee shops. The beaches, scenery and hiking are some of the few hidden gems along the way. My favorite towns are Fish Creek, Egg Harbor and Sister Bay, all along Hwy 42. I've been there in Spring, Summer and Fall, realizing so many more stores are staying open further into the year, as many think everything shuts down for Winter, which isn't the case. Door County is wonderful in all seasons, most spectacular in the fall. We always stay in Sister Bay which is centrally located to everything. Can't wait to get back!!
Visited Door County last week and had a wonderful time!! Though the weather wasn't the best, the fall beauty was breathtaking!! Enjoyed all the State Parks and many County Parks. Cute shops and great pizza at Sonny's. The Maritime Museum/Sturgeon Bay was amazing!! Stayed at BW Maritime Hotel/Sturgeon Bay.......gave it 5+++ stars!!!
A wonderful getaway for romantics, foodies, families and adventurers--Door County is sure to please.
