Good Food I liked this place. I went for a girls night out and found the food to be very good but very pricey. The music was a bit to loud also. It was more for the young hip crowd so next time I will stick with my other Santana Row favorites.
Good food, fun atmosphere Straits describes it's food as Singaporean cuisine which is a nice mix of Southeast Asian flavors. The have great drinks, small and large plates that you can share, and a fun and lively atmosphere. I hosted a team holiday lunch in their back room and it was fantastic.
Good food and great club venue The dinners can get very expensive, so order accordingly - but the food is great. I've typically gone during the late evening when most of the dinner parties are done and it slowly transitions into open dance floor and bar. When a band is playing, the dance floor gets really tight. The bar can easily get crowded too, so have patience, but you'll definitely need to hold your ground when trying to order a drink from the bar.
Food was great but service not so great We went there for a girls night and found that the service was just terrible as it took them forever to seat us and we found one of the hostess rather rude. However the food was great, and so were the drinks. The prices are reasonable so I would recommend the place....just hope you dont have the same hostess/server.
Straits Restaurant is a club/restaurant hybrid I have been to Straits at night when it is open as a big bar area. Strangely enough, they will still serve dinner so you might be drinking around small children. This makes me feel uncomfortable. As far as size concerns, this place is pretty big and the music can be good, but still weird about the dining situation.
crooked line out the door This place is a meat market on the weekends. The food isn't really all that great, but it's fun to watch all the pretty people that got all dolled up to party in san jose.
