Rustic and welcoming, this out-of-the-way charmer makes comfort and warmth a priority. The lodge-like dining room is decorated with reminders of outdoor life and bygone days. Look out at the rolling foothills as the mountains begin to rise north of Atlanta. The menu features American classics done with country care. Fresh seafood selections are flown in daily, and are beautifully prepared. There is also a full bar with an extensive wine list. Reservations are suggested, and can be made through the restaurant's website or by p... read more

Very Good Steaks and Great Drinks – Stoney River seems to be one of northeast Fultons favorite upscale casual restaurants. While the Northwest lodge atmosphere may seem a bit odd in the summer, it has the perfect feel in the cooler months. The bar servers a number of very good martinis and they have a good wine selection. The meal starts out with their signature rolls which are really more like little doughnuts (very addictive). There are quite a few good appetizers but our favorite is the smoked salmon. It has a very light,... read more
Great food, poor service – Celebrated a birthday there last week with family. Food took forever, and on a Sunday night. Still great food, but incompetent service...
Longgggg Wait/Loud Atmosphere/Good Food – No reservations but you can "call ahead", wish I would have known. We had to wait 50 mins. for a table and then another 50 for the food. The hostesses were all high school girls that could use a few communications classes. The restaurant was very crowded and noisy. Dress code ranged from sweatshirts and jeans to dressy. There were families, large groups, and couples of various ages. The tables rolls are very good and sweet , they taste like doughnuts. I ordered the London Filet with ... read more
dinner for two under $100 – At the server's recommendation my friend ordered the New York Strip and he loved it. I had the Lodge Filet which was VERY good. I would also recomment getting the caramelized mashed potatoes on the side. We had two steaks and glasses of wines all under $100! The food was great and the service was great.
Delicious! – Stoney River easily wins my vote for best steaks. They are so juicy and flavorful I never have to use any steaksauce to liven it up. They also make these delicious little bread rolls (my fiance and I call them donuts, becuase they are a little sweet.) I could eat them all day. Wonderful side salads and fresh veggies. And according to my mother-in-law some of the best crab cakes she's ever tasted. All crab, no fillers. I would definitely recommend this place, but avoid the dinner crowd on the weekends. The wait c... read more
Simply the BEST!!!! – There should be a Super Bowl for steak houses!!!! Stoney River would win!!!! Hands down!!!! THe best steak house ever!! There is nothing bad I can say about this place.
Excellent cuts of meat and a comfy, lodge motif ensure smooth sailing at this suburban steakhouse. – The Scene With plenty of stacked flagstone, leather, polished wood and hunting pictures, Stoney River looks and feels like an upscale lodge. Deep, comfortable booths surround a lounge pit with a large, inviting fireplace. On a busy night, the lounge or the expansive bar are popular destinations for the local gentry. Service is friendly and solid but suffers when there's a full house. The Food The obvious draw is steak, and th... read more
Hands Down Best in Atlanta – Some of the best food I've ever eaten. The steaks melt in your mouth. The lobster is unbelievable (you HAVE to get the surf-n-turf to enjoy both the steak & lobster). Their swordfish is just as mouth watering. When my wife & I went to dinner with family, my steak came out barely undercooked. Within 1 minute, the waitress apologized and took care of us, and the owner (!) came out to offer additional appologies. The steak was brought out to perfection in less than five minutes. The manner in which ... read more
Disappointing Experience – At the price of fine-dining, this Texas steakhouse with a touch of elegance (white linens, crystal water goblets) makes one think that the fineness of the steak served will parallel that of fine service and basic staff courtesy with guests. Our experience, while not awful, was far from what I would expect after paying almost $100 for two adult entrees (not including drinks). Our drinks were not filled when completely empty. Our server did his job, although did not go above and beyond by checking on... read more
