Love the veiw! Takes a lot longer to get to the top than it did 20 years ago. But I still can get to the top!!!!
It's a fun place, just need to know when the different attractions are open. Kind of wish they would keep more open for other spring breaks.
We had a blast! Beautiful, clean, well-maintained park. Interesting story about the mountain and how it formed, and very good historical videos. The only issue was I didn't have much of a lunch because the chicken on the sandwich was dark black from being burned and was only one-quarter inch thick and tough like jerky. I took a picture of it that I want to ask if the park staff would eat it.
Very little you can do there unless you buy a park pass. It is run like an amusement park, not like a national park. Make sure you take money.
We enjoyed a family picnic on the point, near the Grist Mill. Chamber of Commerce weather, with early signs of Spring everywhere. We then had the absolute delight of meeting Ms Mabel Florence, following her outstanding Carillon Concert! She's not only an accomplished musician, but a great Ambassador for Stone Mountain Park! She's a Treasure!💕🎶💐
As a geologist and a visitor I absolutely LOVED Stone Mountain. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Marriot Evergreen and we were treated great, the rooms were great and the park was a blast. The hike to the top of Stone Mountain was a work out we realized, however it was a blast on the way up. 5 stars to Stone Mountain. Did wish the lift was open but completely understandable why it's seasonable. Looking to possibly host a wedding there. Any idea who we would need to speak to about rates?
Stone Mountain Park has a 4.3 star rating with 1,918 reviews.
Stone Mountain Park is open now. It will close tomorrow at 12:00 a.m.
