Won't answer phone calls
First the positives. Location, location, location. Close to Little Tokyo without being in it. Plenty of places to go, eat, entertain. And the building is relatively new, roof area is nice, decent gym and nice playroom. The management leaves a lot to be desired though; there is trash, dog poop and graffiti on the stairways, noise disturbances never get addressed (manager actually told me to investigate where the noise comes from, record it and send via email because they can't do anything off business hours... hmmm, right! Moving is always painful. In sprite of an early misunderstanding the team at Stoa has been incredibly responsive and helpful. Karen and Jhonny in particular have been really accommodating.
My experience at Stoa has been mostly positive, primarily due to the exceptional efforts of the staff. Hiromi and Jhonny truly go above and beyond, consistently demonstrating a willingness to help and a genuine dedication to making Stoa a fantastic place to live. The community itself is well-maintained and has a pleasant atmosphere. The main drawbacks, however, stem from the immediate locale and some of the populations that come with the area.
