Best Porsche body shop in O.C – I was referred to Sterling body shop by my Porsche dealer in Newport. I called and asked several questions about how they would repair my car, what type of warranty they would provide, customer service, length of time in business, etc. I drove to their shop in Tustin and saw several Porsches in their parking lot. Repeat Customer – As a repeat customer at Sterling BMW and Sterling Collision, I have had good experience both at the service dept of the dealership and their body shop. My 540I was at the body shop for almost 2 months getting the front end replaced. I was told it would take about 8-10 weeks for the total repairs (final bill of $19,430, thank goodness Insurance company picked up the tab) and it took them that long to repair the car. Busy & expensive, but worth the wait – WOW, I am surprised to see how mad you are. I admit that they are busy but they were fair and upfront with me. they told me it will take 2 months to fix my baby and they took 2 MONTHS to fix it. after $18340.00 and 2 months in the rental car, I GOT MY BABY back a few days ago. I am happy as a clam and will recommend the boys (as I got used to calling them) to everyone that I know. Avoid at all costs! – By far the worst experience I have ever encountered with a business and/or body shop. I thought I was making a smart decision by taking my Audi to a body shop that specialized in repairing Audis & Porsches, not to mention it had been referred to me by an Audi dealership in the area; little did I realize this decision would turn out to be an enormous mistake. promises turning to lies – I dropped off my 745 with minor accident valued at $4400 with them early november. They calculated the completion as $150 a day, total 27 working days. This is already absurd. Early december they promised to finish on 17th january. This is almost double of their original estimate. On 16th january I called to pick up my car. They said the same thing they told me 6 weeks before: The car is on a factory jig. This is the worst shop I ever seen. Go somewhere else.
Sterling - Very poor customer service – After a relatively minor accident, we took our car to Sterling for repair. The initial estimate was that it would be about 3 weeks for repair. They promised to keep us informed on the progress. They never called us - we always had to call them. They kept giving us a date about a week out and then the next time we would call they would slip the date again. Excellent customer service – My wife's BMW was involved in an accident about 2 months ago. I was referred to Sterling BMW Collision by my insurance company. This was our first accident so we were not familiar with the claim processing. Our advisor (john) was very professional and helpful in dealing with our insurance company. They did a great job in repairing our 530 I and it was done a few days earlier than promised. BTW, my brother in law couldn't tell what part of the car was fixed after he saw the car.
